Besides mandrels and mandrel shafts, mesh- and rod heaters PLANSEE produces also the heart of the quartz glass melting equipment - the melting crucibles. The melting crucibles consist of riveted or pressed/sintered (seamless) tubes made from molybdenum or tungsten or combination of each.

A die-plate is built to create the desired dimensions. The high melting point, the high heat conductivity and thermal stability are the special merits of the construction materials molybdenum and tungsten. The excellent quality and processing ensure also a high purity and gassing of the final product.
